Corporate Social Responsibility

The green and blue club colors symbolize the environmental initiatives that the Club associates itself with, on and off the field. The Club develops projects including; the safe water project ‘Hydration for Education’ – Maji Ni Elimu (in discussions with WHO and the gate foundation); Africa green school – a project promoting environmental conservation.

An anti-poaching campaign of Linda Tembo Wetu has been very successful and was launched in 2016.

The Club is developing an anti-human trafficking campaign to end the exploitation and trafficking of African Youth Soccer players in pursuit of their soccer dreams.

In partnership with Seattle:The Club in partnership with Seattle Sounders FC, a major league soccer (MLS) team in the United States hosted a workshop focusing on the various marketing strategies that have been successfully implemented in building, growing, and sustaining a fan base. The guest speaker was Mr. Kevin Griffin, the director of Fan Development at Seattle Sounders FC and head of delegation to Tanzania. Seattle Sounders FC is one of the most successful franchises in the history of U.S sports.
Vulcan Capital – private investment firmStephen Hall, the managing director of Vulcan Capital, Paul Allen’s private investment firm, visited Dar es Salaam to explore project proposals. The main project pursued was on the potential for ‘micro-grid solar in the village or per-urban environments’ in Tanzania. The Club coordinated meetings.
Portland Trailblazers (owned by Paul Allen) presentationThe executives of this franchise NBA basketball team presented to a delegation organized by the Club including Mr. Musa and the TTB team. The presentation was on how we can extend the Seattle Agreement into Basketball so TTB can have visibility in Basketball, Football, and Soccer.
Evening MagazineSeattle presented an opportunity for TTB to film a week of episodes for the show, Evening Magazine, featuring Tanzania as a premier tourism destination and highlighting the Sounders partnership with Tanzania. The project was approved and Seattle invested 60,000 USD. This was to be done every year but due to lack of ‘output’ from TTB, it happened only once.
Joe Ricketts in TanzaniaBased on its strong relationship with Seattle Sounders, the Club connected Tanzania with a very wealthy investor Joe Ricketts who introduced learning through tablet computers to Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar schools, honoring the country’s commitment to using technology to magnify educational impact.
IMG CollegeThe Club organized a meeting between IMG College and Hon. Jakaya Kikwete, President of Tanzania. The aim is to promote Youth and provide free scholarships to athletic kids from Tanzania to the United States.
IMG College is a US leading collegiate sports marketing company, offering national, regional, and local multi-platform marketing opportunities targeting 190 million college sports fans, the largest and most attractive sports fan base.
